Hold

Poetry
let's watch together
ocean currents drag our feet
slowly down
and out into sea
it's easy to resist
to feel your feet
claw their way
into cool wet sand
welcomes you
holds tightly
like your grandfather's
last hug
when your father asks
"do you know why
he hugs you like that"
even though you do
he explains it
anyway

and you know that
sometimes
your stuff gets lost
and you don't see it
anymore
